The Engagement Manager (Transition) and Knowledge Exchange Lead must confirm and baseline the objective of Knowledge Exchange using information available via supplied inputs and discussions with any parties involved in the pursuit or due diligence.
This should typically involve analyzing the services to be supported for variety of factors (see below) to assist in prioritizing the Knowledge Exchange and confirming Knowledge Exchange objectives. The output would be segregation of content into Knowledge Objectwhich will assist the subsequent Knowledge Exchange planning. Examples of Knowledge Objectswould be business overview, criticality, interfaces, functional architecture, usage data, technical information etc.
Details may include:

-

-

-

-

-
Transition planning & timeline awareness
-
Known constraints, current assumptions that impact Knowledge Exchange.
Confirming Knowledge Exchange objectives requires obtaining clarity at a high level on what this stream is looking to achieve.
For example:
-
Are service levels increasing and do we therefore need to get more staff to a greater level of personal knowledge and skill? Do we need to restructure application documentation so that solutions to problems and an impact assessment can be achieved in a quicker time scale?
-
Is Capgemini bringing in new staff to deliver the service and therefore does the focus need to be on bringing their personal knowledge and skills up to a level to deliver the service?
-
Are we trying to achieve a combination of the above?
A correlation between the Knowledge Exchange objectives and review findings based on due diligence output and proposed solution must be drawn. In case of larger transition , the Knowledge Exchange Lead may create a Knowledge Object Matrix once the Knowledge Objects take shape, to assist Knowledge Exchange planning and keep a track of information obtained at each Knowledge Object level.
